About the Role:

We are seeking a Technical Service Technician to join our dynamic Service and Application team, based at our Spartan offices in Gauteng. This role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional technical support to clients throughout Southern Africa, particularly in the industrial packaging and food and consumer goods manufacturing sectors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Install specialized packaging systems and machinery at customer sites across Southern Africa.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and routine technical service of customer equipment.

  • Respond to and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, ensuring minimal customer downtime.

  • Liaise directly with customer technical teams, offering advisory and diagnostic expertise.

  • Administer spare parts orders, manage quotes, and maintain service documentation.

  • Conduct stock control and perform regular stock takes on critical spare parts.

  • Create and submit detailed technical service reports, noting issues and corrective actions.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained through consistent, high-quality service.

  • Work collaboratively with strategic partners, including internal teams and clients.

  • Maintain positive cost coverage on service activities and part usage.

  • Travel extensively across Southern Africa to attend service calls and installations.


Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • A recognized technical qualification as an Electrician, Millwright, or Artisan (or currently completing).

  • Strong knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, and basic PLC systems (preferred).

  • Previous experience in the packaging machinery or manufacturing industry is advantageous.

  • Valid Code 08 Driver’s License and a valid South African passport.

  • Excellent technical problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of working both independently and in a team.

  • Able to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel extensively.
