Are you an experienced Auto Electrician with a passion for working on Caterpillar Earthmoving Equipment? We are seeking a qualified and motivated Auto Electrician to join our dynamic team, working in our workshop, on-site at customer locations, and providing field service support.
Key Responsibilities
As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of electrical and electronic components on heavy-duty earthmoving machinery. Your core duties will include:

Diagnosing and resolving faults in electrical and electronic systems, using Caterpillar diagnostic tools.

Performing scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and emergency repairs.

Installing, calibrating, and testing electronic components and support systems.
-
Responding to customer breakdowns efficiently and professionally.

Conducting air-conditioning repairs and maintenance on Earthmoving machines.

Compiling detailed and accurate technical service reports.
-
Upholding company safety standards and contamination control procedures.

Sharing knowledge with junior technicians and team members to foster technical development.
Minimum Requirements

Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.

Recognized Auto Electrical Trade Certificate.

Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience on Caterpillar electrical and electronic systems.

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Working knowledge of air-conditioning systems and ISO quality systems.

Computer literacy with experience in SIS, STW, and Caterpillar ET software.

Valid Code B driver’s license.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
Preferred Experience

Specific experience working on Caterpillar machinery.

Ability to interpret technical diagrams and wiring schematics.

Knowledge of hydraulic and electronic systems integration.

Experience with machine upgrades and electronic system calibration.
