We are seeking a Technical Assistant to support our team of skilled technicians in the servicing and repair of heavy earthmoving equipment. Key Responsibilities and Outputs:
As a Technical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting technicians both in the workshop and on-site at customer locations. Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting technicians in inspecting heavy earthmoving equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency.

Supporting with basic troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs under the guidance of qualified technicians.

Helping with the removal and installation of machine components, including engines, hydraulic parts, and electrical systems.

Aiding in the ordering of parts and assisting in inventory control to ensure work is completed without delays.

Assisting with administrative duties, including service reports, labour bookings, parts returns, and expense tracking.

Contributing to the preparation of detailed Machine Inspection Reports (MIR) and customer machine condition analyses.

Performing general workshop and site duties, including housekeeping, tool maintenance, and customer support.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Grade 12 / N3 Certificate with:
-
Pure Mathematics (minimum 45%)
-
English (minimum 45%)
-
Physical Science (minimum 45%)
-
-
N2/N3 qualifications with relevant theory in Motor, Diesel, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering will be advantageous.

Technicians for the World Certificate is an added advantage.

Minimum Code B Learner’s Licence (light motor vehicle) preferred.

Strong literacy and communication skills – ability to read, write, and speak clearly.

Good numeracy skills and mechanical aptitude.
