Cani Rusks, in collaboration with FoodBev SETA, is offering a dynamic Millwright Apprenticeship opportunity for unemployed South African youth eager to build a career in the food manufacturing and processing industry.


What is a Millwright?

Millwrights are multi-skilled artisans trained in both mechanical and electrical disciplines. They install, maintain, and repair industrial equipment—making them essential to the smooth operation of manufacturing plants, especially in fast-paced sectors like food production. As a Millwright, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring machinery operates efficiently and safely.


About the Apprenticeship Programme

  • Duration: 3 to 4 years (depending on performance and learning progress)

  • Structure: A combination of theoretical classroom training and on-the-job practical experience

  • Outcome: Qualify to write your Trade Test and become a certified Millwright Artisan


Minimum Requirements

  • Must be unemployed and available full-time

  • South African citizen with a valid SA ID

  • Completed Matric with Mathematics and Physical Science (minimum pass required)

  • Technical subjects in school or N2–N4 engineering qualifications will be advantageous

  • Strong interest in mechanical, electrical, or electro-mechanical systems

  • Willing to learn, work hard, and commit to the full duration of the programme
