Are you passionate about construction and looking to build a rewarding career as a carpenter? Cook Brothers Construction is hiring two Apprentice Carpenters to join our Wānaka team! This is a full-time, 45-hour-per-week role, offering hands-on experience and career growth opportunities in a leading, innovative, and collaborative construction company.
Key Responsibilities for CBC Apprentice Program Opportunity
Work alongside experienced carpenters on a variety of tasks, including:
Concrete work
Framing
Hardware installation
Insulation
Joinery
Site preparation
Trims and finishing
Windows and doors
Erecting walls and building stairs
Safely operate hand and power tools to cut, shape, and smooth materials.
Take precise measurements and calculate material requirements.
Participate in the Apprentice Training Program and collaborate with the Apprenticeship Trainer.
Skills and Experience Required
At least 12 months of experience in New Zealand’s commercial construction industry.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of Zero Harm workplace safety practices.
Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
A valid New Zealand Driver’s Licence.
Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Outlook.
Must have permanent New Zealand work rights.
