We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Assistant to support our maintenance team in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant. If you have an Electrical Engineering qualification (N6), hands-on experience, and a passion for maintenance work, this opportunity is for you.

Minimum Requirements for Coverland Electrical Learnership Program
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
Electrical Engineering qualification (N6)
1-2 years of relevant experience in plant or equipment maintenance
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Strong communication skills at all levels
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act)
Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will:
Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
Perform tasks assigned by the Maintenance Foreman efficiently.
Assist in resolving and minimizing plant and equipment breakdowns.
Support preventative maintenance activities to ensure smooth plant operations.
Assist in conducting profile changeovers for improved machine performance.
Carry out pre-shift startup checks following standard operating procedures.
Conduct maintenance inspections and report any exceptions or issues.
Ensure spare parts are available for maintenance and changeovers.
Conduct stock checks on maintenance spares and report usage to the foreman.
Adhere to the company’s good housekeeping and safety practices.
Follow HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) requirements.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and the OHS Act.
Consistently use LOTOTO (Lockout, Tagout, Tryout) procedures for workplace safety.
Perform additional tasks as required by management.
