Are you a passionate Industrial or Mechanical Engineering graduate looking to gain real-world experience in a structured, technical environment? We’re offering an exciting 12-month internship opportunity through the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme aimed at equipping South African youth with workplace readiness and skills exposure.
This internship will focus on engineering process support, materials standardisation, and productivity improvement initiatives in a dynamic manufacturing or technical operations environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the standardisation of materials used across engineering and production processes

Assist in evaluating and processing engineering material change requests

Contribute to the review and implementation of engineering process change requests

Ensure strict adherence to established engineering and operational procedures

Support and assist in the rollout of productivity projects

Conduct process improvement analysis and propose efficiency solutions

Provide general administrative or technical assistance to engineering teams as required
Minimum Requirements:
-
Must have a completed qualification in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Must be BEE aligned (as per company equity plan)

Must be a South African citizen, aged between 18 and 34

Must be currently unemployed

Not currently enrolled in full-time studies

Not participating in another internship, learnership, or apprenticeship

Must not have participated in the YES Programme for more than 8 months
