Overview of the Role
The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all furnishing, facilities, and equipment within the premises are clean, functional, and well-maintained. This position is responsible for conducting preventative maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and responding to breakdowns efficiently. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety and guest satisfaction while complying with company policies and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities for the Ennismore Handyman Job Position
1. General Maintenance & Repair
Ensure that all furnishing, facilities, and equipment are kept in good repair and are well-maintained, refurbished, or replaced when required.
Perform preventative maintenance, installations, and repairs on refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and general facility systems.
Carry out routine cleaning duties and ensure all areas are neat, organized, and presentable.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and ensure timely repairs to minimize disruptions.
Report any accidents, damages, or malfunctioning equipment to management immediately.
Conduct inspections to ensure all facilities and equipment remain safe for human use.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
2. Customer Service & Guest Satisfaction
Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing their maintenance-related requests and inquiries courteously and efficiently.
Carry out logistics duties with minimal disruption to guests and service operations.
When interacting with guests, use discretion and the appropriate forms of address.
Report or safely store any guest property left behind to prevent loss or misplacement.
Ensure that all work areas are properly cleaned and ready for use after maintenance work.
Always maintain a polite, professional, and service-oriented attitude while performing duties.
3. Quality Standards & Compliance
Comply with all company policies, processes, and procedures related to facility maintenance and safety.
Follow established maintenance schedules and service routines, adapting them as needed to meet operational demands.
Complete all required paperwork and maintenance logs in an accurate and timely manner.
Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance and service quality.
Contribute to the implementation of best practices and new maintenance technologies for operational efficiency.
4. Facilities & Equipment Management
Maintain storage facilities to ensure they are clean, organized, and secure.
Familiarize yourself with the operating procedures for all equipment, tools, and machinery within the department.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements when necessary.
Ensure that all tools and materials are stored properly and meet safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Skills & Knowledge
Trade-qualified Electrician, Mechanic, or Plumber with a recognized Trade Test certification.
Proven experience in advanced facilities and equipment maintenance.
Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance practices for electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
Intermediate-level knowledge of equipment and facilities maintenance, with hands-on experience.
Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and dedication to meeting service and operational needs.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high safety standards.
Strong teamwork skills and a professional, friendly approach to customer service.
