About the Opportunity

As a Fitter Apprentice, you will be trained by experienced professionals and gain valuable practical experience in mechanical maintenance and industrial machinery operation. You’ll work with cutting-edge nonwoven needle punch machinery and fibre extrusion processes, developing critical technical skills essential for a future career in mechanical engineering or fitting.

What You’ll Learn

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment

  • Mechanical assembly and disassembly techniques

  • Hands-on experience with needle punch machinery and fibre extrusion machines

  • Basics of factory utility systems including water reticulation, compressed air, and process water

  • Exposure to condition monitoring and mechanical troubleshooting

  • Working knowledge of OSHACT and compliance standards

  • Participation in shutdown maintenance planning and execution

  • Introduction to robotics in manufacturing environments

  • Use of bearings, lubrication systems, and mechanical transmission

  • Welding, cutting, and grinding basics

  • Application of pneumatics and pump systems

Who Should Apply?

  • Recent Matric (Grade 12) or N3 certificate holders with Mathematics and Physical Science

  • Mechanically inclined and interested in engineering and machinery
