About the Role
We are currently seeking a motivated and technically inclined Technical Assistant to join our growing installation team. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience in the electronic security industry and is eager to grow their career in alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and intercom installations.
As a Technical Assistant, you will work closely with our Installation Technicians to help set up and maintain state-of-the-art security systems. This role involves assisting with the full installation process — from drilling and cabling to mounting detectors and panels. The right candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a practical understanding of electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities

Assist Installation Technician with the installation of alarm and security systems.

Remove outdated or faulty security equipment from client premises.

Run new cabling, drill holes, apply adhesives, and mount panels, detectors, contacts, lights, and other components.

Connect detectors and alarm panels independently and perform walk-testing of the system.

Assist with installation and configuration of CCTV, access control, and intercom systems.

Notify the technician of any tool or equipment shortfalls or cabling requirements.

Provide support during client handovers and assist with demonstrating user functions.

Ensure the vehicle and client premises are cleaned after installation.
Qualifications and Experience

Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent (essential)

Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience as a wireman in the security or electrical field

Basic electrical or electronic systems knowledge (advantageous)

PSIRA Grade C registration (advantageous)
