Department
You will be part of the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions and mining team. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in a multinational organization and in an environment involving different cultures and different challenges.
Your responsibilities
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and product specifications
Must perform normal math calculations easily.
Must understand and operate a welding machine.
Identify the welding consumables and correctly set/adjust the wire feeder.
Identify, fit and remove the shielding gas cylinder and regulator.
Must be able to perform the welding process as required.
Clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, bolting, or grinding parts as necessary to satisfy the technical requirements and create a welded final product.
Operating other accessory equipment and performing some tasks necessary for welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs.
Control the processes of fitting, burning and welding to avoid problems in relation to overheat, distortion, expansion or shrink of spare parts.
Examining finish products and parts and comparing them with samples to check whether the specifications are met.
Ability to plan, prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for welding job such as shielded metal arc, gas metal arc or other welding equipment.
Arranging and assuring the welded parts to be arranged in order before being assembled into final products; Using such tools as square, calliper or ruler for this task.
Use gas cutting equipment.
Must be able to follow procedures and technical specifications to ensure the delivery of a quality products.
Must be able to conduct basic maintenance and quality checks on equipment, and report any faults.
Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and adhered to at all times.
Training of apprentices that may require training.
Operate overhead crane.
The ability to interact with team members and management.
Assist the department manager achieving departmental goals and objectives.
Attend to all meetings as scheduled by the company and department.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with OHS act, Quality Control Procedures and Product Specifications.
What you bring
Qualified Artisan: Welding Trade
Understanding of drawings and part lists.
Experience in welding procedures.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
