Are you an experienced professional in high-voltage battery systems and automotive electrical repairs? We are looking for a skilled individual to perform standardized strip-back and teardown of HV battery packs at our Battery Assembly Plant. This role is essential in improving First Time Through (FTT) rates, identifying failure modes, and ensuring process optimization.

Role Summary

As a High-Voltage Battery Teardown Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing and diagnosing battery pack failures, ensuring precise data collection, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Your expertise in high-voltage battery repairs, vehicle electrical systems, and root cause analysis will play a crucial role in maintaining quality standards and enhancing efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities for the Ford Artisan Electrician Job Opportunity

Execute standardized strip-back procedures for battery assembly packs.

Follow the established strip-back and teardown protocols.

Interpret fault codes from QLS-CM and analyze failure modes.

Accurately record component disassembly data for failure mode tracking.

Use QLS-CM for data collection and report findings effectively.

Escalate recurring defects to ensure continuous process improvements.

Maintain tools and workstations in excellent condition.

Facilitate root cause analysis and assist in implementing Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA).

Coach team members on avoiding process failure modes.

Ensure adherence to 5S standards in the work environment.

Follow all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols for safety compliance.

Deliver end-of-shift reports and conduct proper shift handovers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong understanding of high-voltage battery systems and their components.

Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.

Familiarity with QLS-CM and Ford-approved repair standards.

Proficiency in computer applications for data analysis and reporting.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum N3 Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current).

Trade Test Certificate (Electrical or Automotive).

Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive industry.

Experience in DC high-voltage systems repairs (Advantageous).
