What Does This Engineering Apprenticeship Offer?
As an Engineering Apprentice, you will support the Engineering and Maintenance teams by assisting with administrative and technical tasks. This role is ideal for individuals who are studying towards a qualification as an Electrician or Millwright or require workplace experience to complete their trade test.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with procurement tasks, including raising purchase requisitions (PR) in SRM and SAP, and following up on purchase orders (POs).
Create and manage job cards, ensuring proper documentation, closure of tasks, and reporting any deviations.
Organize and maintain engineering records, including drawings, manuals, SOPs, and other critical documents.
Update spreadsheets and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), issuing reports when required.
Support contractor management, including issuing permits and ensuring work areas remain neat and organized.
Assist in scheduling repairs and maintenance work to ensure the efficient operation of site equipment.
Participate in failure analysis investigations to determine the root cause of equipment failures and recommend improvements.
Contribute to the development of work schedules that maintain a safe and healthy workplace for all employees.
Contact suppliers for quotes and provide administrative support for engineering projects.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you should meet the following criteria:
Grade 12 (Matric certificate).
Currently studying towards a qualification as an Electrician or Millwright OR require workplace experience to complete a trade test.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy, with the ability to update records and manage spreadsheets.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
