We are seeking a trade-tested Millwright to join our Engineering Department at Adam Tas, Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Specialist – Utilities and play a key role in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and process optimization.

 

Key Responsibilities for the Heineken Entry Level Artisan Position

Adhere to all safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe working environment.

 

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production machinery, utilities, and facilities (e.g., lighting, boilers, compressors, crossflows, heat exchangers, crushers, pumps, electrical motors, control panels, and distribution boards).

 

Ensure optimal machine performance and compliance with food safety standards during maintenance.

 

Respond promptly to breakdowns and other maintenance requests.

 

Assist with shutdown planning and execution as per industry best practices.

 

Monitor and control quality practices in a manufacturing, cellar, or utilities environment.

 

Provide technical expertise and guidance to process teams on fault finding and operating procedures.

 

Support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with business goals.

 

Assist with the installation of new equipment, projects, and system improvements.

 

Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with Heineken Beverages’ standard operating procedures.

 

Perform welding (argon and arc) and machining activities (milling and turning advantageous).

 

Participate in mini-business activities to enhance operational efficiency.

 

Perform standby duties, overtime, and flexible shifts as required.

 

Minimum Requirements:

N3 qualification with a Trade Test (Millwright).

 

Minimum 3 years of experience as an artisan in a cellar or utilities environment.

 

Strong knowledge of electrical reticulation in a plant environment.

 

Experience with wine cellar and utilities equipment is a distinct advantage.

 

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.

 

Advanced problem-solving and fault-finding skills (mechanical & electrical).

 

Proficiency in argon and arc welding.

 

Self-motivated, innovative, and capable of working independently.

 

Ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

 

Strong teamwork and communication skills at all levels.

 

Own reliable transport is essential.
