We are looking for an experienced Technician to join our team and contribute to the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of electrical systems in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This role involves attending to electrical breakdowns, preventative maintenance, and plant improvement projects while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with SHEQ standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Hulamin 2025 Various Artisan Jobs
1. Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Attend to electrical breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical systems.
Work on overhead cranes, machine centers, and automated equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled systems, Variable Speed Drives, and industrial automation components.
2. Plant Optimization & System Improvements
Assist in or lead the development of maintenance systems to enhance plant reliability.
Implement continuous improvement projects to optimize production and cost efficiency.
Contribute to shutdown projects and plant upgrades.
3. Safety, Compliance & SHEQ Standards
Ensure adherence to isolation and lock-out procedures.
Maintain compliance with SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) standards.
Identify and resolve electrical hazards to improve workplace safety.
4. Teamwork & Collaboration
Work as part of a high-performance maintenance team.
Participate in reliability forums to enhance plant efficiency.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, production managers, and safety officers.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certification:
Trade-Tested Electrician certification from a recognized institution.
Wireman’s License (SANS10142).
Experience & Skills:
Minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings.
Competency in fault finding, PLC programming (Siemens preferred), and automation systems.
Experience with Siemens AC/DC drives, electro-pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and auto-electrical equipment.
Knowledge of basic instrumentation related to level, pressure, position, and temperature control.
Familiarity with CMMS systems like Maximo or similar for maintenance tracking.
Strong problem-solving skills, using various analytical tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and standby duties when required.
