Job Purpose
The Department of Infrastructure in the Western Cape Government is seeking two (2) qualified and competent Engineering Technicians to provide technical services in electrical engineering, including support in design, maintenance, operations, and project implementation across infrastructure projects.
Minimum Requirements For The 2 Electrical Engineering Technician Posts

National Diploma (3-year) in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.

Registration with ECSA as an Engineering Technician (Compulsory).

Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification technical experience in an engineering environment.
-
Valid Code B Driver’s Licence.
Key Responsibilities
-
Render technical engineering services in line with operational and project demands.
-
Assist engineers and technologists in fieldwork, technical reports, office design, and workshop operations.

Participate in infrastructure inspections, design evaluations, and report drafting.
-
Ensure all activities comply with relevant safety regulations and statutory requirements.

Produce and/or review technical drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and other design tools.

Evaluate and improve standard technical manuals, drawings, and procedures.

Support innovation and research to improve infrastructure quality and reliability.
