Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine, a leader in the South African mining sector, invites unemployed youth and matriculants with technical subjects to apply for its 2025 Apprenticeship Programme. The program provides structured learning and practical work experience to help learners qualify as artisans in high-demand technical fields.
 Purpose of the Programme
The apprenticeship programme is designed to offer learners the opportunity to:

Obtain an Artisan qualification (NQF Level 3–4)

Participate in a structured training plan that includes institutional learning and on-the-job experience

Gain technical and hands-on skills relevant to the mining and engineering industry
-
Successfully complete a 3-year apprenticeship that aligns with industry standards
 Responsibilities and Duties:

Comply with all requirements of the Learning Agreement
-
Commit to learning trade-specific skills and applying them in the workplace
-
Complete progressively complex tasks in both theoretical and practical settings
-
Serve the company’s productivity needs through consistent performance
-
Participate in training assessments, safety sessions, and mentoring activities
-
Show competence in all relevant modules within the prescribed time
 Minimum Entry Requirements For The 2025 Diesel Mechanic Learnership

Grade 12 (Matric) with:
-
Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy)
-
Natural Science
OR
-
-
N2 Certificate with 4 trade-related subjects (e.g. Engineering Science, Trade Theory, Mathematics, Industrial Electronics)
 Essential Knowledge and Skills:
-
Effective communication skills in English (verbal and written)

Commitment to safety practices and operational excellence

Willingness to learn, grow, and adapt in a high-performance technical environment

Basic understanding of engineering principles and workplace conduct
