Applicants are invited to apply for the 2025 Fitter & Turner Learnership Program

Purpose of the Apprenticeship Programme

The goal of this apprenticeship is to equip learners with the technical knowledge and workplace experience required to obtain an Artisan qualification (NQF Level 3–4). This program combines on-the-job training with institutional learning to prepare learners for artisan roles in the mining and engineering sectors.

 Duties and Responsibilities

Apprentices will be required to:

• Adhere to all legislative and workplace requirements outlined in the Learning Agreement

• Take responsibility for active learning, development, and skill application

• Demonstrate competence in the assigned trade as per the apprenticeship requirements

• Complete progressively challenging technical tasks in both theoretical and practical environments

• Serve the employer’s operational goals while maintaining high levels of productivity

• Participate in a structured apprenticeship programme that integrates classroom and on-site training

 Minimum Qualifications For The 2025 Fitter & Turner Learnership Program

To be eligible, applicants must have:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Natural Science
  OR

• N2 Certificate with 4 trade-specific subjects (e.g. Engineering Science, Trade Theory, Mathematics, etc.)

 Knowledge and Skills Required

• Proficient in English (both spoken and written)

• Strong willingness to learn and follow structured training plans

• Basic understanding of engineering, mining safety, and workplace ethics

• Committed to completing the 3-year programme

• Self-motivated with good communication and problem-solving skills
