 About the Opportunity

Massmart invites unemployed South African youth to apply for the 2025 Retail Learnership Programme – a 12-month structured work-integrated learning experience designed to build your future in retail.

As part of this SETA-accredited learnership, you will:

• Receive formal retail training

• Get on-the-job experience in a Massmart retail store

• Work alongside seasoned retail professionals

• Earn a National Certificate in Wholesale & Retail Operations (NQF Level 2/3)

 What You’ll Learn

• Sales and customer service

• Stock control and merchandising

• Point-of-sale systems

• Retail business operations

• Soft skills: Communication, digital literacy, workplace etiquette

 Work Locations

Placement available across:

• Gauteng

• KwaZulu-Natal

• Eastern Cape

• Free State

• North West

 Minimum Requirements For The 2025 Massmart Stores Learnership Program

• South African citizen (ID required)

• Matric/Grade 12 completed

• Unemployed, and not studying full-time (between Aug 2025 – July 2026)

• Not registered or currently participating in another SETA-funded programme

• Able to work retail shifts (including weekends & public holidays)

• Available for a 12-month fixed-term learnership
