Gold One Group Limited is seeking three motivated Assistant Riggers to join our Engineering Rigging Section. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a high-performing, safety-focused team supporting rigging operations at a reputable South African mining operation.

Minimum Qualifying Criteria

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Grade 11 or an equivalent qualification (Grade 12 advantageous)

• 2–3 years’ experience in an engineering, mining, or industrial environment

• Sound knowledge of rigging and lifting equipment

• Experience with mobile crane hand signaling

• Familiarity with Safe Working Load (SWL) tags and nameplates

• Physically fit and able to bend, climb, lift, and carry equipment

• Willingness to work flexible hours, standby, and public holidays

• Must be a South African citizen

Key Responsibilities For The 3 Assistant Rigging Positions at Gold One

As a Rigging Assistant, your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Providing efficient and effective support within the Engineering Rigging team

• Assisting riggers in attaching loads, securing equipment, and preparing materials for movement

• Supporting with slinging, tie-downs, load balancing, and delivering hand signals to mobile crane operators

• Conducting visual inspections of chain slings, links, and lifting tackle to ensure safety standards are met

• Assisting with erecting and repairing rigging systems, including hoists and support gear

• Ensuring mechanical lifting equipment (chain blocks, coffin hoists, etc.) is lubricated and operational

• Making sure SWL tags and nameplates are visible and intact on all equipment

• Adhering strictly to company policies, MHSA regulations, and Gold One’s Safety Motto:
