Are you a recent matriculant passionate about mechanics, agriculture, or heavy machinery? AFGRI is offering a 3-year apprenticeship program in South Africa for individuals who want to pursue a qualification as a Tractor Mechanic or Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic.
This is a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on mechanical training, workplace experience, and industry-relevant skills at one of South Africa’s leading agricultural companies.
Apprenticeship Structure:

Duration: 3 years (including 6-month probation)

Qualification: Tractor Mechanic or Earthmoving Mechanic

Probation: First 6 months allow both parties to assess suitability. During this period, either the company or the applicant can withdraw with no obligation. Upon successful completion, a formal training contract will be signed with AFGRI.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Training in the repair and maintenance of tractors, agricultural equipment, and earthmoving machinery

Performing mechanical services and diagnostics

Assisting with stock control and inventory management

Providing technical support and customer service

General workshop tasks and maintenance
Minimum Requirements:

South African Matric Certificate or N2 Qualification

Valid driver’s license
-
Good communication skills
-
Basic admin and computer literacy

Option 1: N2 with the following subjects:

Mathematics

Plus one of the following: -

Option 2: Matric with passed subjects in:
