Join our team as a Mechanical Assistant and support our maintenance artisans and technicians in performing machine repair, maintenance, and workshop operations. This hands-on role is ideal for individuals eager to learn, grow, and build a career in mechanical and industrial maintenance.

Key Outputs / Responsibilities For The Barloworld Equipment Mechanical Assistant

• Assist mechanics with moderate to complex maintenance and repair work on machines and components.

• Identify and prepare the correct tools and equipment needed for each task.

• Lift or move parts (up to 20kg) safely, using proper lifting and slinging equipment when required.

• Clean and maintain workshop facilities, tools, and machinery.

• Support artisans by obtaining and checking parts for specific jobs.

• Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant workplace at all times.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

• Grade 12 (Matric)

• Previous experience in a mechanical, engineering, or workshop environment advantageous

• Ability to obtain forklift certification within 90 days of appointment

• Ability to obtain overhead/jib crane certification within 90 days of appointment

• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision

• Valid Code B driver’s license (advantageous)
