 Job Description

Cargo Commercial Vehicles Airport, part of the Motus Group, is offering 3 Apprenticeship opportunities for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals looking to kickstart their careers as Diesel Mechanics. This structured Apprentice: Year 1programme is aligned with the Diesel Mechanic trade qualification and combines technical training, diagnostics, and hands-on experience with trucks and buses.

Join a professional dealership environment and work alongside experienced diesel technicians servicing and repairing commercial vehicles including trucks and buses.


 Key Responsibilities For The Cargo Commercial Vehicles Airport Apprentice

  • Assist in diagnosing vehicle faults to streamline servicing and repair.

  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to inspect vehicles per DCSA and dealer standards.

  • Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and part replacements under supervision.

  • Ensure neat, clean delivery of serviced vehicles to clients.

  • Attend to vehicle breakdowns when required.

  • Maintain accurate repair documentation and service records.

  • Communicate technical findings and concerns with service advisors and clients when needed.

  • Adhere to all safety, housekeeping, and workshop hygiene standards.

  • Complete all job cards and clocking procedures correctly and on time.

  • Attend training and development workshops provided by Daimler and Cargo Motors.

  • Carry out any other technical and administrative tasks as assigned.


 Minimum Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) with Mathematics and Physical Science.

  • N2 Certificate in Diesel Mechanic-related subjects (e.g. Engineering Science, Maths, Diesel Trade Theory, Technical Drawing).

  • OR currently a Level 2 Apprentice with trade knowledge.

  • Valid driver’s license (advantageous).

  • Prior technical or mechanical experience is a bonus.
