Job Overview
Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in the Manufacturing Department for a Process Artisan role based at CCBSA Phoenix.
We are looking for a skilled and proactive individual to maintain, repair, and optimize production equipment to improve department efficiency, minimize downtime, and reduce operational risk.
Key Purpose
To inspect, adjust, maintain, and repair production equipment proactively in line with the maintenance targets. The goal is to continuously improve equipment reliability, optimize line availability, and ensure product quality and safety standards are upheld.
Key Duties & Responsibilities For The Coca-Cola Beverages Process Artisan
1. Equipment Maintenance and Reliability

Perform planned and preventive maintenance on equipment according to schedules.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.

Respond to equipment breakdowns efficiently to minimize downtime.
-
Conduct condition monitoring and raise necessary maintenance notifications.
2. Production Line Support
-
Support production by ensuring optimal equipment performance.
-
Assist with start-up, changeovers, and shutdown procedures.
-
Collaborate with Operators and Production Process Controllers to resolve in-line issues.
3. Quality Assurance and Control
-
Monitor equipment to ensure compliance with product specifications and quality standards.
-
Conduct equipment checks, sensor verifications, and calibration of critical control points (CCPs).
-
Comply with GMP, HACCP, and ISO manufacturing standards.
4. Safety and Compliance
-
Conduct risk assessments before any maintenance work.
-
Follow SHEQ procedures, report hazards, and ensure proper isolations (LOTO).
-
Maintain clean and safe workspaces in accordance with 5S and housekeeping principles.
5. Continuous Improvement
-
Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.

Recommend technical improvements for recurring issues.

Share knowledge and support skills development across shifts.
6. Documentation and Reporting
-
Complete job cards, checklists, and maintenance records in the ERP system.
-
Accurately document spare part usage and equipment performance data.
-
Provide feedback and improvement suggestions to Team Leaders.
Qualifications & Experience
Education Requirements
-
National Diploma or Trade Test Certificate (NQF Level 4–6) in one of the following:
-
Mechanical Fitting
-
Millwright
-
Electrical
-
Mechatronics
-
-
Valid Red Seal Trade Test Certificate is essential.

Additional training in Pneumatics, Hydraulics, or PLCs is advantageous.
Experience
-
2–3 years post-apprenticeship experience in an FMCG, manufacturing, or bottling environment.

Hands-on experience with high-speed packaging lines and automated systems.
-
Familiarity with maintenance planning systems and tools.
