As a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice, you will be mentored by a qualified technician while learning the essential skills required to diagnose, maintain, and repair commercial vehicles. This apprenticeship will form the foundation of your career in the mechanical engineering and automotive industry.

 Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnostic procedures and vehicle maintenance tasks under supervision

• Ensure all work is authorized and approved by relevant stakeholders

• Complete repairs and services as per job card specifications

• Maintain efficiency by adhering to Daimler Truck SA (DTSA) flat rate times

• Seek advice or supervision when needed to ensure proper technical execution

• Uphold workshop safety standards and maintain tools and equipment properly

 Minimum Qualifications For The Diesel Mechanic Apprentice at Sandown Motor Holdings

• Grade 12 with Mathematics, Science & English, or

• Technical Matric, or

• N2 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Diesel / Motor Mechanic

• Basic computer literacy

• Knowledge of automotive systems and commercial vehicles
