Tsebo Solutions Group is currently seeking a dependable and experienced Driver to join its operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily collection and delivery of goods, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with South African road safety laws.

This role is essential in supporting the smooth flow of operations by ensuring that goods are transported on time and in excellent condition. The Driver will also act as a representative of the company when interacting with clients, making professionalism and good communication key aspects of the role.

Purpose of the Role

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods, while maintaining compliance with all legal and company requirements. The Driver plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities For Driver – Goods Collection & Delivery

Collection and Delivery Operations

• Collect and deliver goods according to scheduled routes and operational instructions
• Ensure all deliveries are completed within the required timeframes
• Handle goods carefully to prevent damage during loading, transportation, and offloading
• Verify that all items delivered match the documentation provided

Route Planning and Time Management

• Plan delivery routes efficiently to minimise delays and optimise fuel usage
• Manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines
• Adjust routes when necessary to accommodate traffic or operational changes

Documentation and Record Keeping

• Complete delivery notes, logs, and all required documentation accurately
• Ensure that all paperwork is properly signed and returned where required
• Maintain clear and organised records of deliveries and collections

Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection

• Conduct daily vehicle checks before and after trips (fuel, tyres, brakes, lights, etc.)
• Keep the vehicle clean, neat, and roadworthy at all times
• Report any faults, damages, or maintenance issues immediately
• Ensure the vehicle is serviced in line with company schedules

Compliance and Safety

• Adhere strictly to the Road Traffic Act and all South African road safety regulations
• Follow company driving policies and procedures at all times
• Practice safe driving habits to minimise the risk of accidents
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during loading and unloading

Customer Service and Representation

• Provide professional and courteous service to customers during deliveries and collections
• Represent the company positively at all times
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams
• Handle basic customer queries and escalate issues where necessary

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 (Matric)

Experience

• Minimum of 2–3 years’ driving experience in a similar role
• Experience in delivery, logistics, courier services, or distribution will be advantageous
