Minimum Educational Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following essential criteria:

Grade 12 / Standard 10 with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy

Relevant Trade Test Certificate (Mechanical, Diesel Mechanic, or Auto Electrical)

Valid Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence
-
Valid TMM Licence “A” (Dover Assessment)
-
Advantageous: N2 Certificate in a relevant trade field
Experience Requirements For The Dwarsrivier Chrome Artisan Boilermaker
-
Minimum of 2 years trade-specific experience in a heavy industrial, mining, plant, or TMM (Trackless Mobile Machinery) environment
-
Advantageous: At least 1 year of hands-on experience with earthmoving equipment
Key Responsibilities
As part of the Engineering and Maintenance team, your core responsibilities will include:
Maintenance and Breakdown Management
-
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on all production TMM equipment
-
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns according to standards and safety protocols
-
Ensure that all machinery complies with the Mine’s Code of Practice and TMM operational regulations
Workshop & Equipment Management
-
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workshop environment
-
Assist in the daily operations and organisation of the workshop
-
Ensure that tools and equipment are cleaned and stored correctly
Work Planning and Documentation
-
Schedule and organise workloads, tools, and spares according to the maintenance schedule
-
Execute work according to approved work orders, and submit completed reports for supervisor sign-off
-
Conduct daily equipment inspections, record findings, and proactively address defects
Safety and Compliance
-
Conduct mini risk assessments, adhere to lock-out/tag-out and permit-to-work procedures
-
Comply with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) service and safety standards
-
Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols in line with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)
Reporting and Communication
-
Complete job cards, defect reports, and inspection documentation accurately and on time
-
Communicate work progress and findings to the Chargehand or nominee
-
Engage in proactive feedback to stakeholders for continuous improvement
