Are you an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician with a passion for precision and a strong background in industrial systems? We’re looking for a qualified and skilled professional to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This role is critical in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our electrical and instrumentation systems, contributing to efficient operations and minimized downtime.


 Minimum Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • B-Tech or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering Light-Current, or at least an N6 qualification with a valid apprenticeship certificate

  • Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Proficiency in the installation, calibration, repair, and maintenance of electromechanical, electrical, and digital instrumentation systems

  • Sound knowledge of PLC systems (preferably ABB or Siemens)

  • Basic understanding of cement manufacturing processes (advantageous)

  • Ability to troubleshoot microprocessors, printed circuit boards, and data collection systems

  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety protocols, instrument control hazards, and maintenance best practices


 Key Responsibilities For The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician Job Opportunity

Your role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Installing, adjusting, calibrating, and repairing a variety of electrical and electronic instrumentation systems

  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance routines to reduce downtime and extend equipment life

  • Troubleshooting and repairing printed circuit boards, sensor units, and control devices

  • Constructing specialized electronic devices or circuits as required

  • Assisting with inventory control, maintenance record keeping, and technical documentation

  • Collaborating with electrical and mechanical maintenance teams on production-critical equipment

  • Supporting computer hardware installation and repairs in coordination with programming staff

  • Reading and interpreting technical blueprints, schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)


 Skills & Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills

  • Advanced knowledge of industrial automation and control systems

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • High attention to detail and a commitment to safety compliance

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
