Are you passionate about hands-on electrical work and skilled in maintenance and installations? We are seeking a qualified Electrical Assistant to join our dynamic maintenance team. This is a great opportunity for an individual with a solid foundation in electrical systems to develop further in a structured, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining building electrical infrastructure, performing fault finding, and ensuring full compliance with safety standards, such as SABS 0142.
Key Responsibilities For The Electrical Assistant Job Opportunity
1. Incident Response and Fault Finding
-
Attend to call-outs logged via the Control and Helpdesk Administrator.

Investigate and troubleshoot electrical faults independently or with a team.

Ensure timely and accurate fault diagnosis, resolution, and documentation.
2. Electrical Maintenance and Installation
-
Conduct daily inspections and electrical system checks.
-
Repair or coordinate outsourcing of faulty components.

Perform general electrical installations in accordance with relevant regulations.

Maintain accurate maintenance reports, checklists, and tool records.
3. Adherence to Electrical Safety Standards

Identify and report unsafe electrical installations.

Follow all occupational health and safety standards, including SABS 0142.

Conduct regular meter readings and support energy management efforts.
4. Participation in Projects
-
Support supervisors on special electrical upgrade projects.

Carry out assigned tasks efficiently within project deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
-
Minimum education: Grade 10.
-
Trade qualifications: Completed N1 & N2 in Electrical and a valid Electrical Trade Test.

Experience: 2–3 years practical experience in an electrical maintenance environment.

Knowledge of: DB inspections, generators, UPS, transformers, fault-finding, various lighting and wiring systems, and use of power and hand tools.
