Position Overview

The Workshop Assistant will support the maintenance and mechanical team to ensure the smooth operation of golf course machinery and equipment. You must be passionate about machinery, able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and committed to maintaining our high standards.

Key Responsibilities For The Fancourt Workshop Assistant Vacancy

• Maintain, clean, and service golf course machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

• Conduct preventative maintenance and basic repairs under the supervision of the Workshop Mechanic.

• Assist with mechanical inspections and identify safety or operational hazards.

• Operate turf maintenance equipment on the course to verify proper functioning.

• Follow strict health, safety, and operational procedures at all times.

• Support with equipment checks during inclement weather to avoid disruptions.

• Keep work areas clean and organized.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification (Essential).

• 2 years of basic mechanical experience or previous workshop assistant background.

• Must be physically fit and capable of manual labour.

• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays.

• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

• Strong understanding of mechanical tools and workshop equipment.

• Knowledge of golf course machinery (advantageous).

• A proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious attitude.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
