Vehicle Movement and Handling

• Safely move accident-damaged and operational vehicles within the yard
• Load and offload vehicles from tow trucks, carriers, and transport vehicles
• Position vehicles accurately in designated areas
• Ensure vehicles are handled with extreme care to avoid further damage

Forklift Operation

• Operate a forklift safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures
• Use protective materials such as planks and sponge padding on forklift forks to prevent scratches or dents
• Maintain full control of the forklift at all times, especially when handling sensitive loads such as vehicles

Daily Inspections and Equipment Care

• Complete daily forklift inspection checklists before operating equipment
• Conduct routine safety checks, including brakes, hydraulics, tyres, and controls
• Report any faults, damages, or maintenance issues immediately
• Ensure the forklift is clean, well-maintained, and stored properly after use

Safety and Risk Management

• Adhere strictly to all workplace health and safety regulations

Damage Prevention and Quality Control

• Take full responsibility for ensuring that vehicles are not damaged during movement

• Ensure the use of protective materials to safeguard vehicle condition

General Yard and Operational Support

• Assist with general yard organisation and housekeeping

• Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Matric (Grade 12)

Certifications

• Valid Forklift License (Code F2) – mandatory

Experience

• Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse, logistics, or vehicle handling environment
• Experience working with vehicles, especially damaged or high-value units, will be highly advantageous
• Familiarity with yard operations and transport logistics is beneficial
