Key Responsibilities For The General Engineering Assistant Vacancy

 Repair & Maintenance Tasks

• Respond to maintenance tickets issued by the Stores Controller.

• Assess job requirements and ensure availability of necessary materials and tools.

• Request or assist in the procurement and collection of required materials.

• Complete all assigned tasks safely and efficiently.

• Capture and send before-and-after photos of completed work for quality assurance.

 Routine Checks & Preventative Maintenance

• Conduct routine inspections to proactively identify repair or maintenance needs.

• Provide detailed feedback and reports to the Stores Controller.

• Identify and escalate issues requiring Electrical or Mechanical Department intervention.

 Hygiene, Housekeeping & Occupational Health and Safety

• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and FSSC 22000 Food Safety Standards.

• Recognize and resolve health and safety risks, reporting concerns to management promptly.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free working environment.

• Regularly inspect, clean, and safely store all tools and equipment.

• Report any damaged tools or equipment to the manager for replacement or repair.

Minimum Requirements

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12)

• Valid Driver’s License – essential for on-site travel

• Solid understanding of hand tools, power tools, and machinery

• Knowledge of safe working procedures in a technical or manufacturing environment

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety and hygiene
