Position Overview: Handyman Maintenance

We are seeking a dedicated Handyman Maintenance Assistant to join our on-site team. In this role, you will work closely with artisans and technicians to provide general and technical support that ensures the ongoing efficiency, reliability, and safety of our equipment and production facilities.

Key Responsibilities For The Handyman Maintenance at Premier

• Provide technical assistance to artisans and maintenance staff during equipment repair and servicing

• Perform routine plant maintenance tasks as part of our Preventative Plant Maintenance (PPM) program

• Assist with diagnosing minor faults and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment through effective housekeeping practices

• Comply with all safety protocols and ensure equipment is functioning within safety standards

• Identify potential risks or breakdowns and report them promptly to the maintenance team

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient plant operation

Qualification Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 (or equivalent)

Experience and Competencies

• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role

• Basic knowledge of equipment and machinery used in FMCG production

• Understanding of manufacturing/production processes

• Ability to work under pressure and adapt in a fast-paced environment

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks

• Demonstrated teamwork and accountability

• Strong sense of urgency and results orientation

• Willingness to learn and support continuous improvement initiatives
