Job Description

Haval Kempton Park is offering an Accredited CBMT Motor Mechanic Apprenticeship, combining on-the-job training (OJT) with classroom-based theoretical instruction under the guidance of a qualified motor vehicle mechanic.

Theoretical training will be provided by Motus Technical Training Academy (MTTA), while practical experience will be gained in the Haval Kempton Park Service Department.

This programme offers a 4-year contract under the CBMT framework, preparing candidates for a career as a qualified motor vehicle mechanic.

Training Programme Details

• Contract Type: CBMT contract with merSETA and learnership contract with Haval Kempton Park.

• Remuneration: MIBCO minimum wages for CBMT apprentices apply.

• Duration: Levels 1–4 (4 years).

• Training Schedule: 5 days every 5 weeks at MTTA.

• Learning Method: Distance learning via CDX platform (interactive demonstrations, tutorials, quizzes, and practical exercises accessible at work or home).

• Assessment: Computer-based testing, examinations, and practical competency evaluations.

• On-the-Job Experience:

  • Work alongside an assigned technician to perform quality vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs according to manufacturers’ standards.

  • Build and maintain a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) in line with CBMT programme requirements.

  • Gather workplace evidence for competency assessments.

Qualifications and Requirements For The Haval 2026 Engineering Apprentice 

To be considered for this apprenticeship, applicants must have:

• Matric with Mathematics and Physical Science
  (OR N2 with Mathematics, Engineering Science, and English – minimum 50% in each)

• Valid driver’s license

• Computer literacy

• Ability to pass a mechanical insight test

• Successful completion of background checks and medical fitness assessment

• Willingness to undergo psychometric assessment and face-to-face interview
