 Position Overview:

We are currently looking for a Service Technician Trainee to join our dynamic Service Department. This 12-month fixed-term opportunity is designed to provide hands-on experience in equipment inspection, repair, and commissioning of rotating assemblies, in line with Howden specifications.

 Key Responsibilities For The Howden Service Technician Trainee

• Assist with inspections, services, repairs, and commissioning of rotating equipment.

• Learn and support fitting, balancing, laser alignment, and equipment testing activities.

• Participate in quality assurance tasks, including:

  • Report writing

  • Quality Control Plan (QCP) reviews

  • Root cause analysis

  • Fault diagnosis

• Complete mandatory training such as:

  • Health and Safety Compliance

  • Howden Product Training

  • Balancing and Alignment

  • Instrumentation Handling

• Ensure compliance with Howden’s procedures, safety, and quality standards.

 Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 or N3 Qualification

• Red Seal Certificate (Qualified Fitter)

• N4 Qualification is advantageous

• Valid Driver’s License

• Basic experience with rotating machinery in an industrial, mining, or power plant setting

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
