Introduction
Komatsu South Africa has an exciting opportunity for a technically minded individual with a passion for heavy earthmoving machinery to join our team as an Assistant Artisan at our eMalahleni branch. This role is ideal for someone with at least 1 year of hands-on technical experience in a workshop or on earthmoving equipment, who is eager to build a career within the engineering and manufacturing industry.
 Qualification Requirements

Grade 12 with Technical subjects OR Technical N3

Additional certifications (forklift, crane, welding) – advantageous but not required
 Experience Requirements For The Komatsu Artisan Assistant

Minimum 1 year experience in a workshop or technical environment

Previous exposure to earthmoving equipment/machines

Basic knowledge of workshop tools and machine repairs
 Knowledge & Skills Required

Valid Code 8 driver’s license (advantageous)

Passion for Heavy Earthmoving Machinery

SHE: Basic understanding of the Health & Safety Act

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English effectively

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
 Key Responsibilities

Assist the Artisan with daily technical functions
-
Machine and component assembly/disassembly
-
Cleaning and preparation of machines/components
-
Basic maintenance and workshop housekeeping
-
Operate Komatsu machinery and service vehicles as required
-
Work overtime and standby when needed, with flexibility to travel

Apply correct and safe use of workshop tools
-
Maintain safety standards at all times, especially when working with heavy machinery and moving components

Contribute to team productivity in a high-pressure environment
