Programme Overview

You will work under the guidance of experienced professionals within the Services department, reporting to the Maintenance Documentation Manager. Throughout the programme, you will collaborate with multiple teams, gaining valuable insight into maintenance processes, technical documentation, and compliance standards.

Programme Purpose

The purpose of this programme is to equip graduates with the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional experience required to succeed in the rail manufacturing and maintenance sector.

Participants will be involved in servicing and maintaining high-quality rail systems while supporting documentation processes and ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.

You will gain exposure to both technical operations and documentation systems, making this a well-rounded and valuable learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

Documentation Support

• Assist with Life Cycle Costing (LCC) processes
• Support updates to Bills of Materials (BOM) and maintenance regimes
• Raise issues for Change Control Boards (CCB)
• Track change requests and ensure documentation accuracy
• Support technical illustrations and maintenance documentation

Document Authoring

• Assist in creating and updating work instructions
• Ensure all documentation aligns with company and regulatory standards
• Learn and apply technical writing best practices

Maintenance Analysis

• Participate in maintenance BOM analysis
• Support compliance monitoring activities
• Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following:

• National Diploma in:
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electronics
• B-Tech / Advanced Diploma / BEngTech will be advantageous
• No previous work experience required
• Must be a South African citizen
• Must be between 18 and 35 years old
• Strong communication skills in English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
