Purpose of the Job
To be trained and developed as an artisan through a structured learnership programme combining both on-the-job training and theoretical learning.
Minimum Qualifications For The Marula 2026 Engineering Learnerships

Grade 12 / STD 10 / NQF Level 4 equivalent (essential).

A minimum of N2 Certificate with four (4) relevant subjects OR NCV Level 4 in a trade-related field (essential).

Must successfully complete:

Knowledge and psychometric assessments.

Formal interview process.
-
Medical fitness certificate (Red Ticket) and Heat Tolerance Screening (HTS).

Key Performance Areas
The successful candidate will:
-
Be trained in a structured artisan learnership programme.
-
Assist artisans in daily duties and perform technical work such as fixing, replacing, and maintaining equipment using engineering principles.

Successfully complete all engineering training phases (on and off the job) to qualify as an artisan.

Adhere to Marula Mine rules, regulations, and standards, ensuring compliance with best practices and legislation.

Work under the guidance of an allocated coach (artisan or foreman) in a supervised environment.

Conduct basic fault diagnosis, problem solving, and reporting.

Maintain engineering equipment to ensure operational efficiency and minimize production losses.

Act as a supervisor with limited authority to develop leadership and supervisory skills.
