Main Purpose of the Job

We are seeking a Hospital Maintenance Technician to perform essential maintenance on buildings, equipment, and facilities to ensure all assets are preserved in their original state. This role is vital to keeping our healthcare environment safe, functional, and aligned with compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities For The Mediclinic Artisan Assistant 

As a Maintenance Technician, your duties will include:

• Performing a variety of technical maintenance jobs within the hospital locality.

• Identifying, managing, and controlling technical and operational risks.

• Carrying out office administration duties within the Technical Department.

• Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships while delivering excellent client service.

Minimum Education & Qualifications

• Essential: Grade 10 or equivalent technical/vocational qualification.

• Desired: Grade 12 (Matric).

• Desired Certification: Valid Code B Driver’s Licence.

Experience Required

• Essential: Technical aptitude (no prior experience required).

• Desired:

  • 1 year of experience in general building maintenance.

Skills and Knowledge

Applicants should have or be willing to develop the following skills:

• Strong understanding of building maintenance processes and repairs.

• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and ISO compliance.

• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).

• Familiarity with Planned Maintenance Systems.

• Basic skills in general equipment repairs.
