Purpose of the Role
NWK invites aspiring technicians to apply for our 2025 Apprenticeship Programme, designed to provide both hands-on practical experience and structured theoretical training in a real working environment. Apprentices will learn under the guidance of qualified artisans, progressing toward independence and increased task complexity.
 Key Responsibilities For The NWK Fitter and Turner Apprenticeship Program
 Practical Training

Execute tasks as assigned by senior artisans or supervisors

Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical parts and equipment
-
Maintain tools and clean work components
-
Apply theoretical knowledge in real-life, practical situations
-
Complete practical modules aligned with trade requirements
 Theoretical Training
-
Attend accredited classroom-based sessions
-
Complete trade-related technical subjects and assignments
-
Work through learning modules relevant to your discipline
-
Implement theoretical concepts in the workplace
 Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this apprenticeship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
-
N3 Certificate or relevant technical subjects in Matric (advantageous)
-
Strong manual skills and practical reasoning
-
Good numerical abilities and analytical thinking
-
Able to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams
-
Fluent in English and/or Afrikaans (spoken and written)
-
Must be medically fit for physical and technical work
