Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Artisan Assistant to join our Plant and Engineering Department. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide manual support to Artisans, assist with first-line repairs, maintenance tasks, and ensure the smooth functioning of plant equipment. This position requires a hands-on individual with strong technical aptitude and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities For The PepsiCo Maintenance Assistant Position 

• Assist Artisans during the execution of technical repairs, servicing, and maintenance.

• Support first-line repairs and troubleshooting of plant machinery and equipment.

• Maintain housekeeping standards as per AIB requirements and company policies.

• Assist with general maintenance tasks across the Engineering Department.

• Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all equipment and plant areas.

• Identify and report faults or technical issues promptly to the responsible Artisan.

• Escalate unresolved problems to senior technical staff for further attention.

• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring proper use of tools and equipment.

• Report any hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents immediately.

• Comply with all company policies, SOPs, and regulatory standards.

• Carry out any reasonable instructions from management as required.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric (non-negotiable)

• Trade Test Certificate (preferred but not mandatory)

• 1–2 years of experience as an Artisan Assistant or in a similar technical support role

• Sound knowledge of plant machinery, tools, and applicable equipment

• Basic understanding of safety protocols and engineering processes

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to follow technical instructions accurately

• Physically fit and safety-conscious
