We are seeking a skilled and motivated Qualified Electrician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and compliance with safety standards.
Minimum Requirements For The Qualified Electrician Job Opportunity

Grade 12 / N3 / NQF4

Qualified Electrician with a recognized trade test

Valid driver’s license + ability to pass Rand Water K53 test
-
Wireman’s License (advantageous)
-
At least 2 years’ post-apprenticeship experience
Key Responsibilities
-
Perform all scheduled maintenance tasks
-
Investigate, diagnose, and repair plant breakdowns
-
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and legal standards
-
Provide input and execute plant improvements and modifications
-
Deliver on-the-job training to assistants and apprentices
-
Supervise and manage contractors on site
-
Coordinate and support electrical projects
-
Monitor and analyze section performance data
-
Plan and execute jobs via scheduled defects and job cards
-
Assist with shutdown planning and execution
-
Maintain and update electrical drawings in relevant sections
Technical Knowledge
-
HT, LT, HV, and LV systems
-
AC and DC drives
-
Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings
-
Application and operation of actuators
-
High- and low-voltage motors
