We are seeking a motivated and technically inclined Artisan Assistant or Engineering Trainee to join our dynamic technical team. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for individuals with a passion for mechanical or electrical engineering who are looking to gain practical hands-on experience in an industrial environment.
If you are a recent matriculant, a student working toward a technical qualification, or have basic exposure to engineering maintenance, this role is your gateway into the world of industrial support and production engineering.
 Minimum Qualifications

Matric (Grade 12) – Essential

Currently studying or holding a qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering – Advantageous

N2 qualification in a related field – Advantageous

Trade Test in Fitting or Fitting & Turning – Highly advantageous
 Required Knowledge & Skills
-
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and electrical components

Comfortable using hand tools and performing minor repairs
-
Strong grasp of machinery safety procedures and workplace hygiene

Familiarity with OHS Act and general occupational health and safety
-
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required

Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious

Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Ability to work within a high-performance team environment
 Key Responsibilities For The Rainbow Artisan Assistant Vacancy

Assist Artisans in daily mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks

Support engineering and production teams on technical projects

Perform routine inspections and minor preventive maintenance

Adhere to ISO 9001 & ISO 22000 processes and documentation

Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and work areas
-
Complete assigned duties with quality and efficiency

Administer compliance-related health and safety reports

Maintain records and support audit readiness
