Job Overview

Rand Water is seeking a reliable and hardworking General Maintenance Assistant to support our artisans in maintaining and fabricating plant and pipeline equipment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth daily operations by assisting with tools, performing housekeeping, and maintaining workshop cleanliness.

 Key Responsibilities For The Rand Water Artisan Assistant Mechanical

• Assist Artisans and Technicians with tools, machinery, and equipment during routine maintenance and repair tasks.

• Perform cleaning and upkeep of tools, mechanical equipment, and workshop areas.

• Load and offload tools and materials for maintenance work on-site.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and health and safety compliance in work areas.

• Carry out general physical labor and manual tasks when needed.

 Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / N3 Certificate

• 2+ years experience in a technical environment or workshop, especially with hand tools or power tools.

• Knowledge of basic tools, equipment, and machinery used in plant or pipeline maintenance.

• Understanding of occupational health and safety protocols in a mechanical work environment.

• Tool cleaning, care, and safe handling

• Verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team
