Sandvik is seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to support the maintenance and optimization of our advanced drilling equipment, including the D45KX, DR580, and DI650i Drills, at client sites. This permanent on-site role is vital in ensuring machine availability, safety, and customer satisfaction.
 Key Responsibilities For The Sandvik Mining Service Technician

Install, repair, inspect, and commission various Sandvik products and equipment on-site or at designated locations

Conduct fault-finding, troubleshooting, and equipment diagnostics (electro-hydraulic, auto-electrical, hydraulic, PLCs, etc.)

Maintain and manage service tools and equipment

Prepare detailed service reports and documentation
-
Support customers by recommending equipment/process improvements

Provide technical support to the sales team and contribute to product problem-solving

Mentor and guide colleagues in service methods, safety, and best practices
-
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures

Uphold Sandvik’s high standards of service and technical excellence
 Required Qualifications and Experience
-
Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
-
Recognized Trade Certificate in Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrical, or Millwright (with Apprenticeship documentation)
-
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role (Surface Mining Equipment focus preferred)

Proficient in fault-finding (electro-hydraulic systems, remote controls, PLCs, and diagnostics)

Experience in maintaining earthmoving and surface mining equipment

Fully medically and physically fit for mining site requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Office (basic computer skills)

Must have own set of tools

Fluent in English (written and verbal)

Valid Code 08 driver’s license
