Purpose of the Job

• Set up, calibrate, and operate welding, brazing, and soldering machines or robotic systems
• Perform welding and heat treatment processes on a variety of metal components and assemblies

• Comply with all Safety Management Systems, including Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and Mine/Plant Operating procedures
• Conduct hazard identification and task-based risk assessments prior to commencing work
• Interpret and apply risk assessment documentation to ensure safe execution of tasks
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and daily briefings to align on work priorities and risks
• Apply emergency procedures when required and respond effectively to safety incidents
• Promote a strong safety culture by leading through example and encouraging best practices

Communication, Reporting, and Documentation

• Provide consistent and accurate feedback to supervisors, group leaders, and planning officers regarding work progress
• Maintain detailed records of completed work, including maintenance logs and equipment history

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following educational requirements:

• National Senior Certificate or N3 qualification
• Relevant Occupational Trade Qualification or Certificate in Welding or a related field
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Valid driver’s license

Experience Required

• A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in welding, fabrication, or a similar technical role
