We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and hands-on Handyman to join our professional maintenance team based at a hospital facility in Cape Town.  Minimum Requirements For The Servest Handyman Job Opportunity

To qualify for this Handyman role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• South African citizen (Western Cape residents preferred)

• Grade 12 (Matric Certificate)

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar handyman or general maintenance role

• Clear criminal record

• Technical tertiary qualification advantageous

• Strong technical background with practical training

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Knowledge of maintenance, repairs, and facilities operations

• Previous experience on facilities management contracts in healthcare or commercial buildings

 Key Responsibilities

As a Hospital Handyman, your duties will include:

• Replacing broken tiles in line with TAL specifications

• Independently performing maintenance tasks while promoting a safe work environment

• Replacing light fittings and globes; basic electrical fixture understanding

• Performing emergency repairs efficiently and effectively

• Painting, touch-ups, and surface preparation using different methods

• Repairing and replacing door locks and basic carpentry

• Assisting technicians and machine operators as needed

• Following all health and safety regulations strictly

• Keeping workspaces organized and tools properly maintained

• Using time effectively and reporting progress to the Facilities Manager

• Performing other duties as required within the maintenance scope

• Self-motivated and proactive approach

• Ability to diagnose and repair general building issues

• Familiarity with hospital or healthcare facility maintenance will be an advantage

• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks

• Willingness to learn and take on varied technical responsibilities
