Key Responsibilities For The SGS 2026 Electrical Engineer Trainee

As an Electrical Engineer Trainee, you will:

Support senior engineers in designing electrical strategies tailored to specific projects and client needs
Assist with electrical schematic creation and modification using CAD software
Contribute to reviewing cable schedules and performing testing procedures
Aid in developing discipline-specific designs within time and budget constraints
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project milestones
Participate in drafting technical documentation and reports
Attend internal training and workshops to enhance your engineering knowledge
Support safety and quality assurance procedures

Minimum Requirements

South African citizen with a valid SA ID
Aged 18–30
Currently unemployed
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field

Key Skills and Competencies

Solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
Familiarity with CAD software (advantageous)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Team player with a willingness to learn and grow
Adaptable and eager to embrace new technologies
