 Minimum Qualification Requirements For The Sibanye-Stillwater Artisan Electrical

• Grade 12 / Senior Certificate

• N3 Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering

• Completed Electrician Trade Test (Red Seal or equivalent)

• MV (Medium Voltage) training is compulsory

• Minimum 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in the electrical field

• Medically fit to work in a mining or heavy industrial environment

• Valid driver’s license and own transport (due to standby and overtime requirements)

• Clear criminal and security screening record

 Please note: Candidates with Section 28 Trade Test certificates from non-mining sector centers will not be considered.

 Key Responsibilities

As the appointed Electrician, your core duties will include:

• Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment

• Responding to electrical breakdowns and emergencies

• Ensuring availability of spares, materials, and equipment

• Participating in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety meetings

• Coaching and mentoring junior team members

• Keeping detailed records of legal inspections and job cards

• Completing tasks using the appropriate tools, methods, and safety protocols

• Ensuring compliance with all environmental and SHEQ standards

• Upholding a high standard of quality in all maintenance and repairs

• Following structured work sequences that prioritize production demands

 Core Competencies and Skills

• Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance skills

• Understanding of electrical circuit diagrams

• Safety-first mindset with sound knowledge of mining safety regulations

• Good communication and report-writing ability

• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Willingness to work shifts, standby, overtime, and respond to emergency callouts
