Are you a passionate, unemployed South African youth eager to break into the world of digital marketing and e-commerce? This is your opportunity to gain practical workplace experience, build marketable skills, and support real businesses through the YES Digital Marketing Learnership Programme, powered by Takealot and the Youth Employment Service (YES).

This 12-month paid learnership places you within small businesses (SMMEs) who are sellers on the Takealot Marketplace — offering hands-on training, mentorship, and real impact.

Note: Learners will not be placed directly with Takealot, but with SMMEs that sell on the platform.


Programme Structure:

  • Contract Type: Fixed-term (12 months)

  • Work Focus:

    • 80% on digital marketing and Takealot Marketplace support

    • 20% exposure to broader SMME business operations

  • Location: Gauteng (placements close to learners’ residence)

  • Support: Ongoing mentorship from business owners and Takealot coordinators


Key Responsibilities For The Takealot YES Learnership Programme 

  • Deliver excellent customer service via phone and email

  • Resolve product or service issues with professionalism

  • Use digital platforms and software tools for problem resolution

  • Support marketplace operations such as listings, pricing, and promotions

  • Liaise with internal teams to address customer queries

  • Take ownership of tasks and work towards providing a customer-centric experience


Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12 Certificate

  • Strong written and spoken English

  • Must live within 49 km of placement site (Gauteng)

  • Clear criminal record

  • South African citizen, aged between 18–25 years old


What You’ll Gain:
